Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

So disappointed

Last year I got a bigger raise compared to this year even though my rating was MUCH MUCH BETTER.

Does anyone know how the raise works here?

What's the point of being a high performer if it doesn't translate to money??

When will Fido realize "recognition email" doesn't pay my bills ....

Management has very limited influence over salary increases; they’re primarily determined by market conditions. Human Resources generates suggested raise amounts based on where an employee’s current pay falls within the established range for their role. If someone receives a higher-than-average raise, it typically indicates that their compensation is currently below market benchmarks.

Salary is not performance related it’s based on competitive within the industry.
Bonus and shares are merit based….do more than your job and you’ll usually do better. Be good at only your role and that’s what you’re paid for. Except they don’t tell you what the amount of more ever is. Been hearing it for years! So I can repeat it!

Raises are not where the money is. It is all about shares. Start asking about the share program(S) and you will be amazed (of course it has been watered down over the years thanks to the AI replaceable HR function).

Be ready for more. Reorg will place you much lower on your band ...those who got good hikes ( only if you are in FDAM ) this year will be way above rest of them...else search for better job .

The money pot is divided up “equally “ based on business groups and teams.
If you are a top performer in a team of slackers, you should get a larger piece of the pot
If you are a member of a team of high performers, it gets divided up “evenly”.
Be aware brown nosers and nepotism will affect this.

You mean in your base salary? Look up “pay at Fidelity” on fidcentral. Base doesn’t reflect performance, it’s just to keep you competitive with the market and at an appropriate level with your peers. You won’t get a raise in your base salary if you’re already competitive or at the top of the range. How were your bonus and shares?
