Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Goodbye Nina Goodheart

After years of foisting your su-kage onto SH&A, you are taking the golden parachute in a testament to the clear lack of leadership ability and lack of qualifications you brought to a once mighty division, leaving the group wallowing in debt to the tune of almost $800,000,000 to Blackstone, no clear goals and a culture of pettiness and obsequiousness.

Thanks for the memories and the sh---y raises.

@f3
SH has no pipeline, just throwing darts at the FEA bored, hoping to score.

I think Sunny was the COO of Theranos...very highly regarded!

Nina spent over a year "looking" for a VP of SH R&D. She ended up hiring some guy, Sunny, with zero relevant experience, a lot of degrees, who worked remote.

@ah

I would say it to her face, if she ever bothered to show up.

Nina surrounded herself with sycophantic toadies, manifested as senior directors and, when she could not find a title for them, "senior leaders", people desperate to make VP at the expense of their own character and integrity. I watched many competent people be shoved out of SH&A because their priority was accomplishment rather than sycophancy,

@f1

Fair point. It is my understanding that Sean Salmon was let go because he would not deal with the "Nina problem", one of the two was the other's intern.

Nina should have seen the writing on the wall when Skip came in.

@ar Nina Goodhart? You must have been following her linkedin feed. In reality, she was a training wreck.

@ah SH is, and has been, getting the sh*t kicked out of it by Edwards, but you wouldn't know it from all the internal PR and self-congratulatory BS. The only reason there is any growth in SH is because the market is growing, and SH is growing slower than the market. Look at the pipeline, it's pathetic AND SH is so underwater with Blackstone it is hard to believe there will ever be a positive return on investment. I think Nina spent more time carefully curating her social media brand than she did thinking about business, marketing and technology strategy.

@as Is that what they call a "Legacy"?

@c5 I think you have your answer. She couldn't. Sean Salmon is to blame for this incompetence driven disaster, that is Structural Heart, as much as Nina is.

How can a journalism major lead a complex biomedical heart valve unit siting in east coast remotely? That’s beyond me

No wonder we are in this mess

Many of the leaders are checkbox or Nepos hires. Is it any surprise most are incompetent?

Nina fumbled the bag with SH. Terrible leader, should have been gone a long time ago

Lol - on the RDN. So much failure.

She might have been a great leader in the sinking businesses, but she led the destruction of CRM tachy, then RDN, and then Structural Heart. Quite a 20 year career.

This is a HUGE loss. Nina is a we-pon and the KOLs would do anything for her. She has done an excellent job in SH not to mention CRM and RDN. Hope that mo--n Skippy didn’t push her out to make himself look tough with Geoff. This su-ks

@op, wow, you must be a real tough guy, going after a lady on the day she decides to retire from the comfort of your keyboard - I’m sure you have the blls to say this all to Nina’s face, too. Otherwise, get back out there and start selling. If your raise was so shitty then take a look at your own performance - mine have been pretty good.
