Anyone else seeing this in their SAP profile? "Unpaid Leave – Bridge to Retirement" for time? What exactly does that mean? I mean I got the over 55 and over 10 years of service, but is that just some admin limbo status placeholder? or does it actually mean something? Someone told me that at one time, even if a person was RAd, they got like 2K blue points, but I don't see anything about that anywhere. I also in vacation/PTO calendar its all approved until the end of the year.

It's the status they assign you when you fit the retirement criteria. You're technically on LOA until 12/31. You don't get paid, but your insurance is still in effect til the end of the month.
They provide some mumbo jumbo about why they do it that way but I believe it's because they can skew the numbers of the people they RAd and make many of us look like we we chose to retire instead of being kicked to the curb.
@d8 managers really know about 98% less than used to as they no longer have HR people assigned to them. I had to slog thru the HR bot and 3 "reps" before 1 of them sent me a link to secure the 2,000 blue points. So YOU order the blue points with zero involvement from your mgr. Most managers know nothing of this, nor the other option of a lunch or dinner for up to 10 people nor the "book of letters" which retirees got from their IBM network for decades. It was a hard copy collection in a binder of pictures from your career and usually made everyone cry. Sad so much has been jettisoned by IBM.
@cv Not true, My useless, racist, PoS manager did not initiate the 2000 points.
@OP if you truly retire you do get 2000 blue points.
Most likely because your last day is before the end of the month and regular benefits are through the end of the month. I saw the same behavior and it eventually switched.
My guess, IBM is trying hard, not to be sued for "age discrimination". So, they try to make look like a voluntary retirement. IBM is stupid if it thinks it will work. Lawyers will skin IBM.
Arvind and his cabal will get their undeserved fat bonuses by the end of the year.
