Hi, any word on today’s layoffs? I am on vacay this week, but kinda stressing. Anyone got updates?

VP sends out an org chart highlighting the new people from MEG and leaves on a bunch of vacant positions, some of the same positions of people that were let go. That’s cold blooded there.
Seems like Cenovus is laying people off based on positions rather than skills.
I know a couple of good people that were let go, yet the kept other less skillful people.
You would think they would just move those with more talent to lower positions and let go of those with lower skills, but I guess Cenovus does things... "Differently".
the number was about 100 staff let go this week
Rumor has it that CVE will release between 85-90% of MEG staff once the integration, expected to move quickly, is completed.
Supposedly around 6-7ish on site employees on each shift but can't 100% confirm
