With Verizon laying off, what is the impact it has on Citi technology, Irving?

@m4 Companies post fictitious jobs all the time even during layoffs. It gives a false impression of the health of the company and job market overall. The job market is actually worse than reported because of these sleazy tactics by companies.
@c5+1
It may be a scam or an error but I have a Verizon job nibble and I am in Irving. I’m not saying anymore than that.
I think it’ll be like Citi. Layoff and job post at the same time. We’ll see.
@by it means FEWER jobs
They will apply at citi, Irving
It doesn’t mean anything as far as I’m concerned. Company A, B and C layoff in the same area. It’s a prudent decision to trim cost, show the shareholders that “we mean business when it comes to running lean”. It settles minds that everything is under control yada yada….. Later, as usual, its determined that we really need the staffing. Its too embarrassing for each company to reach out who they let go.
So…..Company A hires those that company B let go.
Company B hires those who Company C let go.
Company C, hires from A & B of who they let go.
Each company just swaps out ex employees on the hiring. Verizon very well may hire you and you’d be happier there than at Citi. As far fetched and as crazy as that sounds, its possible that other companies are not as toxic as Citi. Crazy to think that way, right?
It means less jobs.
