Anyone get a RIF package for the holidays? I know quite a few who actually want it, but they are hard to come by, not many people get the gift 🎁
If someone has received a RIF, what’s it look like in 2025, do they give you anything decent?

@199 Entire Sales org, except for Account Execs and 5 layers of sales mgmt was taken off a sales compensation plan and moved to annual bonus plan, resulting in upwards of $60k/yr pay decrease for some.
@199 This sounds like a great decision. NCR has a long history of being a sales driven company with no desire to invest appropriately in engineering. At this point NCR is a shell of its former self with little to sell.
For the majority of small and medium businesses, the proper sales strategy is a web-based model with standard product aimed at a particular store type. Since NCR's competitors have already accepted this model, NCR has no chance of survival if they don't do the same.
Savvy reduction in compensation could replace the expected EOY layoffs. Sales compensation plan is getting gutted, I mean, "transitioned" to a simple bonus program. Translation, "Bye-bye commission", big pay-cut for those that work in retail sales. Depending on base salary, pay-cut could be 10's of thousands of dollars.
Anyone that actually gets a RIF should consider themselves lucky, not easy to get one.
My advice is if you are lucky and get one, if you have any thoughts it’s not fair, get a lawyer on retainer, you’re likely to get more than what’s offered, the cost could be well worth it, the company wants you gone, the pay out is irrelevant after you sign the 50 page document, they got rid of you for good.
I just want to know what kind of sandwich it was?
Looks pretty safe to say nobody has received a RIF package lately, neither company wants to pay anyone out, they would rather make them miserable until they quit.
@xg Your statement is really telling.
Please, ladies and gentlemen can we civil to each other. We all know that as shown by current standards, it’s not a crime unless you get caught 🫣
@a8 Admitting to corporate espionage then, are we?
@s2 Here is a thought violate the law in a big way. We will wait. Honestly some of the remarks are well, Stupid.
@s2
The perp was convicted by the Trump DOJ. What do you want, a public hanging?
If your life is all about bashing the 1/2 of the country that voted for the other candidate, you lead a sad, sad life.
Thr current justice department is not competent enough to prosecute something like this.
@qh
I see David Lu, Houston resident on the DOJ website. He only got 4 years followed by 3 years of "supervision".
The 20 years was a different case. If I recall correctly, it was treated as terrorism.
@m2
Can you validate the 20 year sentence for a corp dead man’s switch?
@a8
The last person I know of who successfully installed a "dead man switch" in corporate software was honored with a 20-year prison term. Looking for a cellmate?
@a8 Right code name secret squirrel, give me bleeding break!!!
The half a sandwich RIF, joking like that is not a joke, obviously the person knows nothing about a RIF.
I have a dead man’s switch embedded in the operations. 3 months after my final login, it triggers. You’ll know it when it happens.
For my RIF I got a half eaten sandwhich.
