Thread regarding Paramount Global layoffs

It’s toxic here

Without going into too much detail, it’s been a disappointing journey. To come so far after a highly anticipated merger and to be here. Toxicity. Low morale. Same office politics. And a tough market.

@hk happy for you but I haven’t seen or talked to a single person who isn’t either just hanging on for dear life, still feeling survivors guilt, or trying to find a way out. The morale is still pretty low, I’m not feeling any excited vibes on the many zoom calls or face to face interactions I’ve had with various people.

@ez facepalm glad you’re happy. Maybe a bit delusional too. Good for you.

Idk my department is the same. Everybody is pretty happy. We all have a good time at work for the most part. I mean it is a job it all can’t be fun and games.

@ez True, it is a huge company. I worked with nearly every team across all the brands in my years there, and I'm still in touch with people employed across the entirety, including all U.S. locations and many of the international offices. Not a single person who has survived this long post-merger has anything good to say about morale, leadership, direction, culture, or outlook for the future. None.

Perhaps YOU should be more specific, bro: where is the morale GOOD right now? Where are there NOT worsening office politics? What team ISN'T experiencing an endless barrage of toxicity? What team DOES see a brighter horizon for the company and its brands?

I think the only answer to ANY of those questions is "Heir Ellison and his handpicked senior leadership team."
