An inbred, crooked, hillbilly run monopoly that was never equipped to compete in the modern telecommunications economy. Big Ed, with his ginormous golden parachute passing the baton to his simpleton son in law, Randall, who effs it all up and passes the baton to an incompetent flunky named Stankey. Who in their right mind would think that what was AT&T could possibly succeed?

If you know things that others want kept quiet you will go far
SBC was referred to as Taco Bell for very good reason.
@OP Lets not forget about John Zeglis and his accomplishments, along with his golden parachute!
Randall the vandal
Truer words have never been spoken.
OP… “inbred, crooked, hillbilly”
You nailed it!
When Stank took the reins, pompous narcissist become another trait of “leadership”.
They have been paying me for a long time. That's success for me.
Stink taking over was the big head scratcher. That guy is the worst.
I think I saw bx's momma moaning on OnlyFuns!
The situation would be so much better if Bellsouth had bought AT&T.
Fixed it for ya...
The problem has been the Stink, and Ratty before him...
@bx “cry and moan everyday”
So does your momma!
You cry and moan every day
And yet you stay
And yet we are succeeding due to the power of what’s called in business a moat. An enormous cellphone network that is near impossible to replicate by new competitors and people’s willingness to pay for it gave us the ability to make mistakes most other companies couldn’t recover from. All companies make mistakes but few make $100b mistakes. Almost none have made bad investments on the scale that AT&T has and yet we have FCF in the billions.
That is all correct, but just to add. East Coast, Ivy League/MIT, Bell Labs elitist legacy T did sc--w up on its own to shrink to the size of a peanut and end up in the hands of SBC hillbil--es.
