Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Prepare for Fraud Layoffs in Q1 and Q2

With the leadership team planning the budget next week, a significant portion will be over layoffs. They overhired and are moving faster than expected on the Consent Order.

At the same time, they are pushing ICs to move faster and faster leading to burnout, while planning to lay those same people off. The leadership was bemoaning that after the CO is over, there needs to be busy work until the layoff details could be finalized.

I love how ever single thread turns into 1: we hate management 2: we hate IT 3: IT doesn’t realize how much we hate them 😂

No one cares about AML.

@vw not layoffs. They are moving some people around. Plus doing some fake bs “rotation” that you never return from. Plus some very targeted terminations (for cause). After that, two teams will be consolidated down to 1 and one remaining director will be laid off.

@vw good. I hope all of those bank risk roles are eliminated. Have you spoke to any of them that are left? None of them are risk or compliance or bank professionals.

The only area that would actually make sense to completely layoff are those bank risk roles.

Latest thing I heard on Wednesday in office was that Charlie’s got a couple of teams in Bank BRC that are getting laid off early Q1 (possible Dec)

Well it’s going to be broader than fraud. Bank BRC is gearing up for layoffs again as we speak.

@OP That was exactly what they did to AML a couple of years ago. Over hired during the CO and then layoff hundreds as soon as the CO was closed .

I’m sorry but with fraud and AML you guys are the teams that have come here and cried wolf one too many times.

Someone gets fired for cause and you guys get on here screaming layoffs.

Meanwhile the only area that’s actually grown and had net hires has been fraud and aml.
