Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Empowering employees to innovate

I feel stuck here. All my friends and colleagues who left here say that it was a good decision because their talent was just being wasted in this company. What happened to the culture that empowered employees to innovate?

What happened to the culture that empowered employees to innovate? That ended the day Craig Barrett became CEO, and the blame also sits with every CEO after Craig.

Intel is a dinosaur and gong extinct.

Fabs and RD as much as they say they value innovation the CE! mentality has squashed anything close to risk taking and innovation necessary to survive against the competition. Top to bottom silicon fab at the core of it all is incapable!

Like asking the local police force top to bottom behave and perform like the Seals. Now are the people smart enough or fit enough, possible with exercise but top to bottom the culture totally incapable of it!

When you are replete with cash it's easy to ask engineers to, 'go off and create something wonderful'. However, when you have failed at strategy and execution and the income goes down, everybody has to get back to reality and make sh-t the people want to buy.

"What happened to the culture that empowered employees to innovate?"

It died long ago. Thanks to Wokieness (not the kind Chewbacca is a fan of).
