These layoffs made a lot of things clearer for me, but the biggest thing is that I really don't want to stay here any longer than I absolutely have to. I'm already looking and once I find something, even if it means taking a pay cut, I'm gone because this whole process showed exactly how little thought went into how any of us were treated. Verizon handled this in the worst way imaginable and I have no interest in being around when they repeat the same cycle, because we all know it's only a matter of time before it happens again.

I no longer have pride working for Verizon. Dan sleep well with your $59 million payout.
@a3 -"Verizon used to be a great company."
That's a mistatement, Verizon was NEVER a great company. What exactly did it ever really accomplish that was truly unique or distinct?
You say, wireless and CableTV (just like every other company out there!).
I was impacted. This year was extremely rough for me personally and professionally and I let my guard down. I hadn't applied for anything internally or externally and it really frustrates me.
I started applying after Dan's email and actually landed two interviews this week. One job is a step down and one is same title with a 30k base pay bump. I gave so many years to Verizon and was happy with my PTO accruals, work friends, and knowing the business inside and out. Verizon severely underpaid me by climbing the corporate ladder with the arbitrary salary caps.
Always keep your resume updated and don't have any loyalty to Verizon!
Verizon has been this way through many leadership change/market cycles. The corp does not care. You have to look out for yourself and move on.
I saw one of the hardest working most sweet guy lose his job. I’m 8-5 now weekdays only
Or……. You can stay with Verizon and wait for them to RIF you and then get paid to leave……
Now is the time to be looking for another job while you still have 1
Dan has no clue and the outsource will continue
Smart move. I think Verizon used to be a great company. Now it’s toxic as sh-t. Poor leadership has ruined it and now the employee experience is atrocious. Show no loyalty because Verizon obviously has no loyalty towards you
BINGO!
