Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

The RIF-ening is not over

RIF-Giving
RIF-pocolypse
RIF-Day

Whatever you want to call it is not over.

For certain, all Retail Senior Managers are actively being stack-ranked and your fate will be determined in the near future. So for you lazy store managers, you've already made your bed, and they know.

There can be only one! It's better to burn out then fade away....

Lets put this into semi-real numbers. Lets say across the board, 14K folks just woke up to no longer having a job. That really su-ks, I've been there that first morning of when you normally would be on the way to your place of employment but you no longer have to. Well, no longer get to.

Lets say the medium salary was 70K. Maybe thats too low. But its a number. Lets round it to 6K per month, per employee. $84,000,000 in salary per month not counting the added FICA on top of it. For a company, thats alot of money to longer have to pay out each month, each year. From an investors POV, thats a good thing. From an ex-employee, not so good.

In my world, in a corporate store, nothing has changed, the 2 Asst managers were sitting in the back room while the store had 10 people in the queue. Like usual it was anarchy, no customers directions, people not knowing were how to sign in ,reps haphazardly calling names of people put back into the queue by the garbage user unfriendly pos system. I'm shocked we never have riots at our location. And I can't believe these 2 Asst managers have jobs. And their mgmt know about it.
