Something has changed in the past few weeks. Friends of mine laid off by Dell back in the spring are finally getting offers left and right. Just today three different friends called, two got offers, and one made it to a final round and they haven’t gotten to a final round in 6 months. All in, I now know of at least six people that got offers in the past few weeks. Not sure what’s going on, but I’ll take some positive news for once. Does anyone know what changed? Or is this just a weird streak of good luck for people I know?

@ad I reached out and the consensus seem to be most took lower roles than what they had previously, less pay, but close enough. One took a role that was equal to their former sales role, and did pay a bit more than what they were previously making (but the 401k contribution was less than Dell). None of them are temp or retail jobs, all still within the fields they were working in. I really hope that luck comes my way now. Feeling a little more optimistic, and I have a few final round interviews coming up. Maybe it’s swinging back toward employee market right now? It’d be nice.
If these jobs are connected to retail sales or financial institutions is any way, then this is most likely just part of a normal yearly cycle. These types of businesses typically hire to gear up for the xmas shopping season and layoff most of not all the new hires in earlt to mid January.
what job? Meybe it bcs they decided to take lower salary or change the role
I hope it is a trend we will all see.
what type of roles?
