Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Why are we even discussing layoffs?

They’ve been a never-ending affair for a long time.
I wish for an alternate reality where none of us had to live in permanent existential dread.

Alternate reality? Go find a job somewhere else. Layoffs are everywhere in the corporate job. Or work for the feds, think you are set for life, then get laid off by Trump and his cronies. Just live your damn life instead of being stressed over things you can't control. Most people here are like that. Sad. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Stop letting it control your life.

The customers know they keep getting new account managers, but fewer and fewer customers have account managers so they get random contacts.

@af The customer doesn’t
Know. They are fed kool aide all day long by those handing their product. I was told that most don’t even know about automated platforms and instructed not to disclosed the info.

I've seen my manager let go, their manager let go, my peers, and their employees let go this year. As they keep cutting big every 90 days and smaller cuts every few weeks, there is nobody left to do the work. Optum has failed us and the customers. If I was an Optum customer I would not renew and contracts as all of my contacts have been turnover muiltiple times in 2025.

I wish too for Utopia, but alas, here we are. Since senior leadership gives us no warning whatsoever, it's nice to have a heads up from people on here who seem to "in the know" much more than us pleebs.
