Heard there have to be 4s on the team. This might be the new strategy to get rid of some serious headcount without any severances. Track your work and have enough evidence to contest the 4s. If they want you out they want you out.

@a2 Citi exceeded their 2025 $600,000,000 severance/separation budget by $700,000,000 (more than double.)

We’ve been through this before. Distributing 4’s while likely means that the employee has a future outside of Citi does not mean you’ll be managed out vi PIP. HR simply doesn’t have the manpower. Citi severance reserves for 26 will be used for that purpose. I’ve heard that # is 30% higher than last tear which is probably a tacit recognition that they can’t rely on attrition with people clinging to their jobs like a life preserver.
