Why is Nike now following trends and not setting them as they used to?
I see many of the completion shoe styles replicated by Nike designers across running and basketball. Apparel as well.

It’s a public company scrambling after years of unmoderated growth. Shareholders come first and always will.
None of the innovators remain. It’s all politicians now.

But overpaid white leaders get to meet their influencer idols for collabs at the expense of Nikes brand image.
Honest answer: the culture is a toxic, fear based bureaucracy. Hard to make innovative products or do anything in this environment.
