Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Why would they create the lake Mary hub only to hate it a decade later?

At the time it’s like “oh new center! It’ll be awesome”

And now it’s like “too much bloat, have to be lean and a miserable place to be with 75% of your team left in an already lean function” wtf?

They can send those same jobs to India for far less. We all know the difference in quality and communication that brings but at the end of the day it’s $$ “saved”.

@OP same leadership that spent millions creating the Innovation Center in SF only to spend more millions moving it to Boston years later and then get this, close it down in just a few years. The only innovation that was done was burning millions and moving.

Yes. Because they got state tax breaks in FLA back then and a good photo op for Governor Snake Scott. Also, it was back when CFO Fran "Sham-wow" Shammo cared about keeping Verizon jobs in the U.S. Those days are long gone. Tony "Munson from All in the Family" Skiadas only cares about profit and off-shoring everything he can.

Kathy Romano and Danna V are the culprits. Both absolutely d-mb and egotistic ‘leaders’

Too much overhead and they are planning on AI to replace those jobs in the next decade. Less people to do the same work, but with AI tools.

So they could switch their official tax HQ to Florida
