Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Transitional employees left in the lurch

Former Hessie in transitional role. It's been 7 weeks and we are abandoned in the Hess building incommunicado. Not a one of us has been contacted by our new CVX managers. Logging on while collecting a paycheck just in case. 👀
I spoke with some CVX transitional people (former coworkers of mine from a past life) and they too have been cast off from their original team and left in the lurch.

No one understands why they kept us on the payroll but I suppose it's a good problem to have if I don't die from boredom. No plan for us whatsoever. Thank god my tenure ends in 1 month. I pity the ones being held hostage till summer awaiting severance.

This is the strangest layoff I've ever seen/lived thru in more than 20 years (and 2 of those were CVX acquisitions in the 2000s).

I was laid off in Wave 1, and my supervisor went dark for 12 months beforehand. Only time I ever spoke to him was for opening and closing PMPs. No work direction. No feedback. No coaching.

This happened in 1H. Mistakes happened. Just take the paycheck and spend the time looking for another position you’ll be happy at.

I wonder when they’ll drop the whole “Human Energy “ thing? Hard to reconcile with the current direction.

Get a deck of cards and some poker chips and you are good to go.

Don’t be surprised if they keep pushing out your transition end day. I was a NBL transition employee and that’s what happened to me. Took over 3 months before anyone at CVX would even talk to me about transitioning my responsibilities to anyone at CVX. Seems like this reorg is much worse than the one in 2020. Good luck Hess employees.

There was weirdness after NBL acquisition and then even more weirdness after the PDC acquisition. Then the reorg came and it was and still is chaos. It seems like CVX is dying.
