My severance

Standard severance would have been: $92K. But, I took VSP last year and I got $170K instead. VSP was the better choice me thinks.

@a5 Even Wendy's isn't hiring. They are closing 300 stores. You know it's really bad out there when even Wendy's has to close down.

@OP No matter what, you'll be paying 50% in taxes and if you made a salary + severance or package, you'll be paying more than 50% in taxes. Meet you favorite uncle - Uncle Sam!

That all depends on what you would have made between your off payroll date and this off payroll date (including benefits and full 2025 STI).

That depends. Its a 78k difference. You are not getting a STI in early 2026. So if your STI and yearly salary are less than 78k, then sure, you made the right choice
