@aa Jonsi for sure did it. In 3 months you don't go create a new company and then quickly get acquired by Vastdata and then claim to be doing exactly the same thing that you did at NetApp (cloud management) - lot of it came from greencloud but that all was purchased by NetApp. If he wanted to do something new, he should have. The whole thing looks like VASTdata might have known what he was going to do. The thing about selling the house in Florida and hiding behind international law. I don't know where this goes - perhaps VAST get sued too or NetApp may be just acquires them.
The whole team operated outside of the standard engineering IT - Al Lawlis put the dome but they were too blind to cloud operations.
Slack messages not even imessages to communicate. I hope they only took cloud management code not Snapmirror or ONTAP code.
Nothing is shocking about this. If you met Jonsi or worked with any of the Iceland team you would understand.
What’s surprising is that GK didn't get rid of them with Anthony.
Disappointing that Tommy Boy was involved. I guess it isn’t named the Tom Mendoza School of Ethics.
I can’t imagine someone as sharp as Jonsi acted exactly how it is reported. Grab some popcorn!
This is shocking and super disappointing of Jonsi... and VAST as well...
Big OOOF.
