Unless you were offered a pittance for a salary, I wouldn’t celebrate leaving. VZ generally is higher than other telcos (with better bonus structure) in pay.

AT&T bonus structure
1st level - 8% (Local Manager)
2nd level - 12% (Area Manager / Associate Director)
3rd level - 25% (Director)

VZ bonus structure
1st level - 12% (7V, supervisor)
2nd level - 20% (6V, old Sr Mgr, now AD)
3rd level - 35% (5V, old dir, now Sr Dir)

I know how good that would feel but, don’t cut off your nose to spite your face. Do the research. If you’re retiring I think you still get 25% off? But do the research and look around either way. Raising that middle finger might feel good but how much a month is it worth to you?

Like the masses, I will switch for the better deal. There will be no - “hey, ima peon sticking it to the man” angle.

RIFs/ Layoff part of working with/for a large company whose product/service has been largely commodotized.
