I still can’t figure out why some Sr Directors are saying “I know nothing at all.. I’m waiting to hear too” and then other Sr Directors (and even ADs) know the names of those affected on their team. Why is the comms plan and information leaking so different this time?

HR has made it very clear that whether you or your team is impacted directly or not, any leaked information ahead of schedule will be grounds for immediate termination. So people should be staying tight lipped tbh.
@a6 They don’t submit names of folks to let go per se. Managers were asked rank their employees. I had to rank mine. It’s later that we find out the size of the RIFs and which groups are impacted. If a SD has 30 people under him he wouldn’t have known at the time if 2 were getting let go or 10 for example
@aa if your SD knows your team well, he might have done it by himself.

Maybe they don’t know because they are impacted? Maybe… just maybe?
Always cracks me up seeing posts with quality info get down voted and speculation from people obviously clueless be up voted.
I do not believe they know anything yet based on the last few RIF's. However, some leaders need to feel important so they act like they are in the know and part of the plan. The people saying they do not know anything are being truthful. VP's know but Sr Directors will be told tomorrow.
They know cause they submitted names. Now some of them have been let go too. Seems like ones with tenure.
It's like telling your kids something (for those who have kids). You may trust 1 or your kids to not say something...but do you trust all of your kids not to say something. All depends on your relationship with your leadership. I've known for weeks now. Not everyone has that type of relationship. Simple fact!
Also, depends on your leaderships relationship with those above them. Some may know 'a little bit'...some may know more. All based on relationships....it's how the real world works.
When will AD’s and Directors (by title) be notified?
They submitted the names so they know. They are likely quiet because they don't know how many of the names they submitted will be rif'd.
@OP They are lying, they do not want to have a flood of calls if they start letting people know who is safe and who is not.
