2040 workforce can't do anything correctly and its a complete sh-t show but as long as you smile and pretend everything is great you'll fit in. Never seen such stupidity.

@dy clearly you don't know how the pension is funded. It doesn't depend on future income or work or even the survivability of state farm. It's basically an annuity thats already been paid for. And for those who fear Farney will take it away, well all they could do now is freeze it where it is and switch people to the new 401k plan. You'd still get the pension based on today's forecasted amounts. Stop gaslighting when you're clueless.

One of my best friends retired from State Farm a few years ago said the day after he retired it was like he woke up from a bad dream. He said after two weeks it was like he never worked at State Farm. Other than talking to a few old friends it never enters his mind anymore. He said if he had to do it all over again after 32 years he would not have worked at State Farm. It is a lunatic farm.

Thank yourself. You worked for it. State Farm doesn't give anyone anything!

@dy the pension is not like Social Security. If the company ended tomorrow, your pension would continue for the remainder of your life and/or beneficiaries' life. But I get the sentiment. I will be one of those people that on the day I retire, it is the last day anyone at SF will ever hear from or see me again. I just want to put this chapter behind me and enjoy life.

Best part is their hard work is paying our pension while they won’t ever know the joy of free money after they retire. 2040 keep your chin up. I need my pension.
