Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Blessing in disguise?

Layoffs?!? Layoffs?!? That’s impossible. I was told by reliable sources at the corporate update that no layoffs were “planned.” Crazy coincidence the layoffs that were not planned just happen to have occurred the week after the Impact roadshow. What are the odds? To be fair to Rick though technically he wasn’t lying. True Layoffs only come from the Layoff region in France. All other layoffs are just sparkling white Reorgs. Seriously, though good luck to those affected. It’s a blessing in disguise.

For sure layoffs are coming to STS anyways. The new GCC is intended to save money but it will be a disaster and end up costing more. Then they’ll layoff in US to make the business case. Probably start with those not in an office or not going in as expected. It’s a large firm and will be some pain via expansion. I’d just like to see VP & SVP levels be held accountable, ie fired, for never sticking to a timeline and budget - or not supporting their teams via risks and issues vs constant politics and blame game and then laying off the people that are attempting to execute. How many MDs are in STS alone?

If you’ve been with the company for more than ten years, you want the package. And the quarterly layoffs aren’t seen as layoffs by the EC. 300 people isn’t a layoff when you're enjoying your million dollar bonus.
