Received an offer from Intel, but don't know the internal acronyms. Anyway, probably going to Cadence.

Bruh, why is everyone talking like layoffs are an Intel specific thing? This is something companies sometimes have to do. Just get over it.
CPM and ACT stands for HC reduction of talented hard working Intel employees.
If you are a talented and hard working individual then you're better off taking a job elsewhere.
What is wrong when a company needs to invent abbreviations for a standard practice.
As I have moved thru a few other companies every company has acronyms but not as stupid and silly as Intel, says a lot about how sad it is
ACT was a quicky some guy named Murthy Renduchintala, an external hire to fix things up at Intel, had with the company. CPM is the same but longer and more pleasurable process going on between Intel and one of its old lovers.
Both terms refer to the redundancy programs which Intel has now (CPM) and had I'm 2017-2018 (ACT). You'd consider all offers on their merits. There will be opportunities for you at Intel once the dust settle. Also in other companies might be the same now or in the future. The only constant in life is changes (Heraclitus)
OP, you crazy ? Got other offers and equal compensation.
No reason to come to Intel unless you have no other options
To that list add: BE, IR, DEI, SET, GOST,... any more?
🤣
You don’t want to know these acronyms. Take the offer elsewhere.
