Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

These will be the longest three days of my life

I think they're doing this on purpose, since I'm this close to just quitting to avoid having to go through this mental anguish even for a day longer. I wouldn't be surprised if some people already broke and quit. This is all a part of their plan, I have zero doubts about that.

RIP is part of corporate life in US. It happens virtually everywhere and anytime. Nothing to be serious about. You just have to find a way to deal with it. The sad part of Verizon RIP is the real issue is not with hard working employes but employees are the ones paying the price

Why quit at this point? Assume the worse but hope for the best. You will get severance, benefits through your severance period, yearly STI and unemployment (that letter should come from HR separately but ask about it during your notification call or reach out to HR after).

I am sorry you are going through this and feeling this way. I was RIFd 1st Q 2025 so get how you feel. If you are not impacted this time, start looking for work ASAP. If you are impacted, apply for internal positions and are down selected as a candidate; HR has the option to extend your off-boarding date until final selection is made.

Good luck.
