Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

There will be many leadership “retiring” announcements over the next 48 hours. Many of those emails are shocking as people have no idea in their orgs. You shouldn’t be fooled as this is an attempt to make you believe that the leadership is suffering like the regular rank and file. Leadership’s numbers pale to what will happen on Thursday. They will all get at least a year of pay and a year of medical while real workers will only get a max of 35 weeks.
Which day will they tell us about the 5 days a week RTO? It is too sinister not to announce to drive the nail deeper in our hearts.

@a4 hey buddy it’s more of a wake up call to people in small business who will never know what it’s like to have benefits. Any benefits.

When they see actual health coverage, and actual severance, instead of just paying out your one week of annual vacation you get, they lose their minds.

35 weeks of pay is not reality. Most people in the U.S. work for small businesses where they get no severance whatsoever from their employer.

Actually if you get any support at all (financial, medical or otherwise) from a company you're exiting consider yourself entirely lucky.

@OP - if and when you end up getting separated from Verizon your eyes will be opened wide.
