I was se-----y abused by a Staff Manager who works in MTT. I have zero confidence that HR will help me and I really don't know who to talk to or if I need to resign. i hope those who may have experienced abuse from this department can speak up too.

@vd how about common sense. If this happened it needs to be reported not aired out on an anonymous message board with no evidence and no police contact about the incident. If its true then it needs to be reported. If its not reported it sounds like a made up story just to stir up drama. Not reporting it only hurts the real victims of this kind of action

Take specific note everytime something happens. (What, when, where, if somebody else was present).
Keep email, team messages, and other messages.
See a lawyer or a union depending on which country you are. Also groups of former victims could be helpful.
I am sorry but it is true that HR is not always useful. They are paid by the company.

@OP thank you for your bravery in speaking up. Regardless of your location please speak up of you are being harassed, se-----y and/or racially discriminated. Employees should not be strong armed into working under toxic work environments.

@OP, sorry this is happening to you.
You might want to check in with a lawyer about your options. It could also be worth asking whether sharing your story publicly helps or hurts your situation. A friend of mine went through something similar a while back, decided to sue. Her attorney advised her to stay off social media until everything played out - just to avoid any unnecessary trouble, like potential defamation issues.

There’s too much pessimism here about HR ignoring an allegation of this severity. While we can all agree that ILMN HR is generally full of lazy buffoons, they will not disregard this situation. It’s too serious and risky for the company, You need to bring it to their attention, presuming that you want to prevent it from happening to someone else.

@a8 what do you mean document it. The deed has already been done. What's are you going to write? "I been abused".? Documentation only works of you worry to HR or someone at the time of when the action was committed.

@a2 lawsuit isn’t the way to approach this.
Get a lawyer and let them advise about criminal charges. If there’s a conviction, then talk about lawsuit.
Going straight for a lawsuit means money rather than justice is what is OP is after.

This is a crime, assuming you are not trolling.
Call the police and get a lawyer. Probably get a lawyer first because you will have to give a statement to the police under oath and they will investigate. If your allegations are true, most likely the person will be arrested.
SA is pretty serious stuff and have criminal consequences.
