Thread regarding Ford layoffs

What did JF mean?

What did he mean when he said “We left about $2 billion in profits on the table that were within our control."

Farley low-balled the number. There is 3.255 Billion wasted annually on North America unproductive white collar workers salaries. This includes the friends and family contingent, the empire building contingent, the retired on the job contingent, the entitled contingent.

Even when the company is flailing coworkers entitlement to be paid for doing absolutely nothing persists. It is mind boggling. Unfortunately this same entitlement culture was replicated in Ford of India, so even the 3.255 Billion is low.

I am telling you 2-6-2023 will seat the layoffs across the board.

If I left $2 Billion in profits on the table, I doubt I would be employed for very long. Just like he said earlier, that the quality issues would take years to fix. That statement should have been his undoing. i have not seen one action to address the quality issues.

Fridays used to be the norm (see: Office Space).

However, WFH means any day is fair game! Heck the tech companies were emailing people on the weekends!!

I wish everyone could just look on the bright side - at least it wasn't 2.5 or even 3 billion that was left on the table.....

@ 1spi - early as Monday? I don’t recall layoffs being on Monday’s. New Ford?

Don't forget, some organizations used the AICP/merit meetings as the 15 minute firing meeting in 2019. It is perfect. They don't have to tip their hand to the firees, since everyone has a meeting. It can maximize stress and fits right in with Ford HR philosophy.

He means that they need to cut $2 billion in salaried employees in NA, because salaried workers are cheaper in Brazil and Mexico.

Don't believe me? Watch. I've heard as early as Monday. They tried last year but waited too late, until August, and they won't make the same mistake this year.

You've been warned.

He meant he hates you and will get rid of you because you are making him look like a fool because everyone knows he is the bestest and most awesomest CEO ever.
