Layoffs will still come later in the year
Gutting the bonus programs was going to happen at some point. When I was working at Intel in TD I was getting 9 bonuses a year (annual, QBP, and quarterly manufacturing targets) that couldn't last. I had a five digit annual bonus multiplier. I was making more than the average American family income just in bonuses. The base pay cuts are noise in comparison to what happened to bonuses, the majority of people at Intel will get either a 5% or zero base pay cut. The bonus programs won't come back to their previous levels.
