Yet another Explorer investigation…of 1.86 million vehicles

Detroit – The U.S. government's road safety agency is investigating complaints that windshield trim panels can fly off of Ford Explorers while they're traveling at highway speeds.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it has 164 complaints about the trim pieces detaching on 2011 through 2019 Explorer SUVs. The probe covers about 1.86 million vehicles.

WHEN WILL ANYONE BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE???

The trim piece popped in my lease car in 2014-2015 time frame. Mine was the driver side.

I cannot believe that the A-Pillar trim can fly off the car, that part and trim system are so over designed it is a hindrance to windshield replacement. It is attached to a carrier piece by 6 or more push pin connectors and the steel carrier is welded to the bodyside outer. Not sure why the bodyside outer a-pillar could not be made Class A surface, would have saved cost and weight.

Management no longer cares about quality, defects, or customers. Old news, get over it.

Never. The 'Accountability Department' was eliminated to save a few Yuan and replaced by AI Algorithms programmed to blame everyone EXCEPT who is responsible for the madness.
