Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

What's your feelings on ASIC/RMBC announcements?

Personally I think nothing was done by RMBC senior leadership to even try to keep those impacted (no surprises there with who "leads" there). At the same time ASIC did everything to try and sc--w us out of severance. They masked it as saving our jobs when really they shoved our pay and careers off to some sc-mmy overseas vendor to please their higher powers. The rest of us shoved to phone grunts. Amazing how we don't control our own destinies at Allstate no matter how good our work is. Ratings mean nothing. Not to mention they openly caused stress and uncertainty for months. When they knew all along what was happening. A big thumbs down all around. So unprofessional. So much lying and fakeness.

It’s funny that people say the company is woke, but when push comes to shove, the employees are even more woke than the company. Grow a pair, improve yourself and move on.

The new allstate will employ underwriters that ride camels and elephants to work.

No surprises that all of those who made the decisions were retained. Where is the accountability? All of them should have been let go and not have had a choice in their careers like the rest of us. Sc-mmy move. Rules for thee but not for me! Go to vendor or go to lame health benefits or quit with nothing. Real nice and classy Allstate!

Consistent with the spineless actions of others in corporate America, the valued talent/worker is pushed aside without regard. It's a business, but the way we treated people through prior change cycles was more human, even if difficult. The failures of this leadership team (mostly Wilson) through many business cycles got us here. The future will be no different, though we'll survive if only through the mediocrity of most of our competitors and laziness of consumers to shop.

What difference would my feelings make. We are just numbered meat to them. Just passed around like property. No choices and no consideration.

It was all handled terrible and the options just awful. However I don't blame the asic or und leadership. They were told to do this and I think if they had their say things would have been different. The no choices is what got me. Anyone who thinks going to wns will be the same as said is fooled. They employ foreigners at a third of what they pay us. Those going to wns are going to a foreign ran sweatshop.

I wanted to calm down and sleep on it before coming here to give my take. The months that they let this go on was just wrong. There is nothing that can be Saud about that. They just wanted to scare people to quit. Even worse and I agree with prior poster of no option of severance. They should have either lifted and shifted everyone to places within the company or laid everyone off with severance. Instead they forced people without a choice to a foreign company that most never heard. And would have never applied for on their own. This may be legal but very immoral and disrespectful. Many would not have taken severance because they have not been here long but at least the choice would have shown some kind of respect. And the way we was told we have no choice was very disrespectful. It was accept the vendor or accept the move to health and life benefits on the phones or quit with nothing. So wrong. Just my opinion folks. I have not decided if I want to accept my fate yet and want to talk with HR or legal before committing.

I feel blessed to still have a job of some sort. But all I can do is pray for these people. These people making and executing these decisions need lots of praying for. The demon is strong within them. Ima good Christian woman and this is all my Lord would want me to say about them.

From day 1 in August when they first announced I think they should have been more upfront and given us choices. Some employees wanted to go to the vendor, some said they prefer staying with allstate going to life, and others wanted severence. Most companies would openly let people volunteer for severence. Also, it was messed up we heard nothing for 6 months. I'm actually ok with my fate but I know not everyone is. They didn't handle this the best way
