Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Q1 2023 OKRs

Read between the Lines on what your told. They are prepping for major cost saving, High earners are easier targets, those with long service, My OKR as directed is to create training docs as to what I do on a daily basis. Prepare to train new people. This tells me they may look to new ways to save money, outsource some positions if they can be done cheaper or online. Due date 3/31. I think Q2 will be a purging event in the USA and a hiring event non-USA.

If they want to save 3billion in 2023, shouldn’t they have already done layoffs in Q4? Layoffs done in 2023 will get savings only for 2024..

In Leixlip, Dr Ann Kelleher spent the day in a glass walled office this week. There was a steady stream of managers going in for meetings the entire day.

Over 200 green badges did not have their contracts renewed xmas week. Some BB's took unpaid time off. Some fixed contract BB contracts were not renewed. Now this.

All is quiet at present. Calm before the storm? Absolutely. BB's are being spread out to cover roles in Foup wash and F34. We are in scary times and we wait to see what is coming next. Everything we were told is was told when it was current. Now its all changed again. Our managers don't even know.

I know its coming, but can do zero about it. Just hoping we are spared.

@You'reapeeing

You would think so but in comparison to the US even western Europeans cost less on pay packages.

Around 25%-30% on average across different positions, you could get a rough guide by looking at some of the sites which compare jobs by geo.

I've seen it through an internal pay scale comparison tool for the Org.

Labour is set cheaper here as there are no Semi's about to poach your skillsets, but they have been ignoring the Pharma's which we are bleeding staff into.

Been there done that, a severance payday followed shortly after.

Although I fully appreciate my time at Intel, I will never return under any circumstance. It’s no longer a GPTW unfortunately.

Maybe Eastern Europe, Western Europe employees are still reasonably expensive

OP…you did also see the target operational cost reduction of $3B (billion!) in 2023!! Of course there are more CPM measures coming…. Bet. 🤪
Get your resume ready…it’s brutal out here atm…

European employees are definately cheaper but I don't see them increasing numbers either for a good while yet.

OP, Funny you say that as my OKRs are almost exactly the same. Train 3 people to X standard and create training materials on all aspects of daily business.

Sounds like a severance pay day might be coming for us..
