Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Oregon Fabs are emblematic of broken culture and poor management

If you work in Oregon fabs, you know how much of a disaster they are. Total disconnect from technicians who keep the place running from those who manage from the upper levels. Do more with less mentality but cannot even execute the basics because lack of tools, equipment, training and leadership. How does Intel expect to be #1 when their R&D can't even deliver? And thebplace is held together by tapeband bailing wire! DEI is great but it makes Intel soft AF. Its a dumpster fire in the fabs and if investors could see behind the curtain Intel stock would be less than 10 per share

Most intel techs are playing with their phones all day long. I proposed installing a soft firewall on their phones just for facebook, instagram, YouTube, twitter and for playing games but management does not take that suggestion seriously. Few of them have the skills that vendor fses bring to the table and those kinds of services are expensive. No doubt intel is fubard......its id--ts all the way down from the elt to the techs.

It is difficult to get rid of DEI folks once they are in….Not just in Intel but in any organization, including the Capitol, FBI etc etc. They build an eco-system which in turn preserves them.

Instead of promoting people from within that already have the proven skills, they hire brand new people who don’t know any systems or tools and take years to get close to the same level of experience as the people who have been there performing for years. They really look down on good performing techs, just because of a title.

Couldn't agree more. Too many "engineers" hiding behind their laptops at home while calling the technicians every 20 minutes to do their work for them. If you have to call someone else to do your job YOU CAN'T "WORK" FROM HOME.

Ya. Techs aren't respected or valued. They will run you down. And the new techs they hire have no discipline and barely tech practical skills. Intel is to engineer top heavy

No doubt. Huge vast chasm between the working technicians and the org Directors.
