Hearing from multiple long term reps that 2/6 is the day. 11% reduction - roughly 17-18k. Mostly from "middle management."

It is not about "who is going to ask the tough questions", it is who will answer them
I know there are some all hands meetings in ISG this Thursday. Perhaps things will happen before that...or questions may come up in the meeting where people will inquire about what is going on. So, who is going to ask the tough questions?
Some people say the 6th but others say it's continuous cuts with no particular day. All fake news
probably and email to meet with HR to find out what your severance is,
What exactly will happen on the 6th? Email from management talking about restructuring?
It’s coming. I was notified 2 weeks ago that my position was cut. Only 27 out of 165 were told that they were safe. Just heard from a few friends in other groups that their teams were cut and jan 31 is their last day. Spread across multiple geos.
Contractors would not get severance, why would they
So that's contractors and HR dealt with, next week and the week after for the rest ?
Today, 1/26 a large amount of contractors have had their contracts terminated. Not sure of the total number but I know it was entire teams.
Again these cuts have not even been announced internally — probably to not panic anyone and to keep it out of the press.
No severance, not even a thanks and goodbye.
Dell don't care about warn, why would they
I disagree the stockholders need to know their controlling cost!
“ it it spread out to avoid the WARN act and thus make alot of financial news”
Hearing what for the 1st
hearing the 1'st
Let’s get it over with.
it it spread out to avoid the WARN act and thus make alot of financial news
There’s no single “day” - cuts have been going on for months, and will continue. I’ve heard multiple leaders say the larger batch is next week, but it won’t be over then.
Weren't 100 let go in HR this week? Isn't it over ?
11% seems too high, most companies doing around 5
6th Feb is a Monday. Dell does layoffs on a Wednesday
Mcfly you need to take the Delorean past earning on Feb 22nd and report back .The paranoia is driving these guys crazy .
LOL ok 2 martinis in. ASG should have been ISG (if you know, you know)
UDS
DPS
I would just say that I have no definitive data. But my conversations with various leaders leads me to believe that the percentages are accurate, and the date is directionally, correct. And when I say directionally, correct, almost all of them have mentioned the first week of the new fiscal year.
I also believe that the percentages you’re talking about are absolutely correct, however, it won’t be eight peanut butter spread, some groups will be harder hit than others. For example, ASG overlays, UDSDPS will probably take bigger hits than core sales folks.
Nope. Just got back from 2/6. Nothing.

This is more reliable info than 1/25 because 1/25 is in the past. You heard it here first!
AI is gonna ki-l some roles in the future.
If you're a 15-20 year vet and get hit with this, you will be OK. You'll end up better than ok. Cash your severance check and look forward to your next chapter. Also look forward to a major downshift in your anxiety level. Your years at Dell have you more than prepared for work life at a new company. There is life after Dell. Great companies both big and small. Great people. Dell didn't give you your career, you earned it! Best of luck to those impacted.
what I just accepted a middle management position
"The silence is deafening" -- you nailed it . We have some major projects due to start but there is a different excuse every week on why we are not starting .
Take some vacation days while waiting for the axe. Like the other guy said, Dell does not pay out unused vacay. You have at least 10 PBA days....USE THEM!
Never jump ship, Dell offers decent severance packages so hold on until they say goodbye. I am in Texas as well, got laid off from Dell not too long ago, the worst part is they don't pay any vacation left if you are in Texas, so keep that in mind...
I work in Emea and while a lot people think it may happen and have heard rumours that's all they are.
Nobody is certain and it's anyone's guess.
What I will say is we have too many people doing the same job and we could afford to lose staff.
It would make sense but does not mean it will happen.
It wont happen until the 6th at the earliest if at all but that is just my humble opinion
The silence of the lambs ..
Remote worker from Texas here (FSE). Haven't heard anything yet - but the silence is deafening, if you know what I mean. It's too quiet. I am supposing that it has to do with keeping everyone in the dark so that no one jumps ship to soon and that they have to scramble to fulfill the gap. My manager was talking weekly about inhouse opportunities both in November and December, but has gone silent too. My antenna ain't twitching either way....
