When I say next, I mean a huge round of layoffs that would affect at least 10k people if not more, like at Microsoft and Google. We have more than 200k employees, and I'm betting you that the leadership is feeling emboldened by all these huge layoffs with very little blowback. This seems like a perfect time for them to take a drastic measure that would please shareholders, like cutting five or even ten percent of employees.

OP, as mentioned below and can be easily confirmed in the financial statements, T does not have 200k employees. It had just about 203k in 1Q2022, which included Warner Media. Where did you get your info, make it up?
T cannot be the layoff leader in the telco space. We need all the good press we can get. We are in 3rd place in the wireless space, the most debt of the 3 players and the poorest image.
Stankey would probably like to do it but he just can’t at this time.
A mass layoff of that size would have very little impact. There is still so much fat.
First of all, ATT no longer has more than 200k employees, it's more like 155k, so there's not a long way to go before T reaches its ultimate desired level.
Funny... I just read an article about Google and their layoffs and I had a very similar thought about AT&T...
I thought that’s what they are already doing
