Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

North Star takeaway

My takeaway from the North star presentation was there will be no raises except for a very few employees.

Yeah, Kate can take her Northstar BS and customer obsession BS and pretend that that's what's going to fix this company. How about learning what is really going on at Lumen behind the scenes and fixing those issues. Talk to the actual employees (not just Managment) and then go back to basics and fix those issues before slamming another fake slogan in the faces of the employees here and expecting that to be the 'miracle' here. Good luck with that!

I really hope Kate reads this.

Alot of the lumen issues has to do with the leadership mindset of no feedback or opinions.

All ideas are presented by someone's personal opinion and they run with it without asking the poeple who serve the customer.

You have ideas, managers and above are scared to present ideas and so, you have ansystem of no communication and disconnect.

Deals being lost by process and employees leaving due to limitations and rules.

The company is not at fault here, its old school management and not having a open door policy to speak up.

The company will sadly fail under the current leadership.

Kate, my advice. You should setup a call with your workers who keep the light on and have a honest session with your producers, where you can gather the data directly of what is going on in the business.

yes, and the few employees who will get raises will be the woke senior leadership team as always, and everyone else can go f*ck themselves

Lumen is doing the right thing by not investing in copper technology.
The problem is, Lumen is not investing in FTTP at the same pace as ki-ling copper.

I would like to ask Maxine how can you be customer obsessed when you have been letting the copper infrastructure completely fall apart last 20 years. Now in the very small areas where fiber has been placed the customer take rate is 5 to 10 percent. lack of customer service = no customers.

The northstar initiative reminds me of bush sr' "1000 points of light" . Likely to produce nothing noteworthy other than a lot of hopium while the scared and impotent upper management continues to jump ship.

I agree. Most or all technicians hired in the past had no technical advantage. They were mostly off the street hires.

We all started with not knowing a thing when we started.
There's good possibility, there could be some geniuses among the new hires.
Make some of us look stupid.

Who cares what Lumen wants? I most certainly don’t! Btw, how’s that stock doing? Garbage!

“Plenty out there who would gladly take it.” Absolutely, but they also wouldn’t know their a-s from a ho-e in the ground. They can’t even find competent contractors to help do the work.

Lumen doesn't want Exemployees back.
They want to start fresh with 15 dollars an hour to start.
Plenty out there who would gladly take it.

Lmao! This company gives no raises! Oh, they pay the Executives and top
Management via the Bonus process. This company is so toxic it’s out of control! Now they wonder why people leave and don’t come back! Why?!

There always will be raises. Just how much depends on the living cost and contract talks.
