Good to see Seagate finally getting rid of some of those Maxtor good old boy club members. These guys were a failure at Maxtor and somehow got to be senior managers at Seagate. Thank goodness this club is getting whacked and making room for more competent and innovative people.

Some body does not know the history of seagate buying companies. Read the Harvard biz. Book “The innovators delemia “ this was written before the maxror deal. The book shows that seagate probably would not be around it the had not bought the companies they did when they did to accuar the platforms they did not have. I think it would be very interesting to see what the dive into the mayor purchase and what the company got from it. Remember every engineering operation that was outside of CA is the result of a purchase of another company.
Seagate had lay-off in the beginning almost all US employees.

I was one of them. Makes me sad that if a few are working at Seagate and dedicate their time to this company, that they are still just seen as "former Maxtor employees".
Good luck to the author of this post. Are you a good employee?
I am curious about this as well. Was this forced? I saw on linkedin that a director level guy is out. I can't recall a time that he wasn't on his phone.
Colorado and California have a few still active.
I didn't realize there were still ones around. All the ones I knew at NRM were gone years ago.
is that a lot of ppl??
Were there more layoffs this month?
long overdue
