Schlobknob is incorrect. The offer being presented is 5 years to age and service and a 5K kicker. Coming in March. Get ready!

I know most of the CWA national business personnel and to this day there has not been any announcement of this kind nor has this been discussed with the union by the company! This is nothing more than a rumor started by a desperate person that heard this kind of offer has been made in the past and expects it to be made once again.

Everyday is another rumor and the current workload is significantly decreasing. At this point, the company's sole focus is to outsource to vendors and cut headcount. There doesn't seem to be a secure department, cuts are expected companywide.

Some good stoic philosophy to cope with challenging times.

Is your energy to add new skills, develop your resume. That way you can land on you’re caught in this tech winter.

12,000 layoffs at Google. 10,000 at Microsoft.

https://savingtoinvest.com/maximum-weekly-unemployment-benefits-by-state/

$999 = you live in Washington State. Most states are at or below $500/week.

I don't know what state you live in but in my state:For new unemployment claims filed on or after July 3, 2022, the minimum weekly benefit amount is $317 and the maximum weekly benefit amount is $999.

When the max unemployment money you can get a week in most states is less than $500, why do you even care if you qualify if you planning on taking the money and retiring. For you that don’t want to do math, that is less than working a minimum wage job a week until you find a job. The paperwork alone is almost not worth the time.

Offer to be made on 24th to ACE. The offer is the same as the severerence if you are laid off. So not really an offer. It is a way to block those that take it from collecting unemployment

Yeah, there’s plenty of layoff rumors and they’re just that! Rumors, nothing more than rumors! Yes, there will be a head count reduction, but there will not be any offers to leave voluntarily and that’s a fact, Jack!

I'm in the southwest and haven't heard a thing regarding enhanced offers to voluntarily leave! Just another person starting another rumor!

Here in the Southwest the story we’ve been hearing is an enhanced offer in March or April. I’ll take it.

I have not received any notification from the union regarding a voluntary offer of these numbers or any offer for that matter. Another rumor by the 5/5/5 person that keeps repeating the same ole garbage!

They will not spin off Wireline like DTV because the business is too untwined now and dependent on each other through management organizations. Besides, that is not the model that Verizon has done and we love to follow them in whatever they do…

There are still way too many ringers on the payroll that need to be gone. Layoffs will continue to weed them out.

Mobility is a race to the bottom that we are losing. T mob is eating our lunch on price, heck their regular price is cheaper than my ATT employee discount price. Wireline is a solid advantage that we have, but it’s expensive to get going.

Really folks about the best we can hope for is to be the power company. Steady revenue, makes some money, provides a good service.

Mobility isn't the only positive revenue source in T. There are other areas of the business that are still profitable!

It's safe to assume there will be layoffs after each quarter due to cash flows issues. Company only has one way to save money, headcount reduction. Need to spin off wireline to an equity firm like DTV. Mobility is the only path to make money.
