Looks like 10-15% of the company just got axes, all ADL and agile adjacent roles are gone as of February 1st.

I will say that capital one actually kept this one under wraps before hitting. I knew of multiple MVPs outside of Tech that had zero clue. That is never the case with this sorta big move.
Also, the way this went down definitely seems very ruthless.
I don’t think Rich will be reading any letters at his annual road-trip from those laid off in this wave.
Truly second the HR being useless. They can’t tie their own shoes and honestly most like the HRCs are there just to keep VPs and up from getting sued.
1200 laid off out of 52k workforce. Thats 2.3%
The CIO sent out an email to his direct reports earlier this week, who then sent out last minute zoom meetings today to discuss pending layoffs in IT. It was very cold and unapologetic, like the other zoom firings you read about or see on youtube when others get fired. Not surprised every big bank and tech companies are doing it. Hope they fire a lot of HR people too they're useless.
For whoever asked what adls do:
Track delivery, dependencies, risks
Prime facilitator of the team
Help with sprint planning/closing
If you don’t know what some of these are, then google agile methodology
Not 10-15% of company… I get trying to communicate and please don’t spread fear.: agile in tech which may be 2% of total company… support those impacted.. please stop with false data
What does ADL team do
Yup , company wide. All gone. Transition period till feb 1st, then two months of continuing to be employed and opportunity to find roles internally and final partition from the company starting April 1st ( that’s when severance payouts happen).
It’s a bummer.
what call ?
