Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

I'm Confused....

I've been browsing this site for a while now, and I don't see anything that tells me that this is any different from the way things have worked since the beginning of time......Correct me if I'm wrong.......

The CEO is running this company like a business not like a summer camp. For too long there has been an abuse of privilege. People showing up to the office to laugh and play instead of work. There is a reason out CEO is receiving record bonuses approved by the Board of Directors. He is fixing 90 plus years of mismanagement

The company went from the most desired company to work for in auto insurance, with good reason, to just another insurance company that treats its employees poorly, within 5 years.

This was a family company that cared deeply about its employees and customers as a family. Its not a metrics based company that can justify quantity over quality, and is 100% ok with insane turnover and no culture due to everyone being new, or disliking the company they work for.

This is what makes the complaining so visable here, many lived though the company being so great, and then saw it throw away a uniquely wonderful culture and work ethic so they could lower costs and retain executive bonuses....all at the expense of the producers within the company....and that might be your "how its worked since the beginning of time" but it hasnt been how SF has worked for about 90 years.

We used to be much more responsive to customers, even though we used carbon paper and the US mail for everything. I remember when claims were reported by chiseling them on the cave wall.
