I see a lot of anger, hate, and animosity towards management (of all levels) on here. I don’t get it. I was a bargained employee for 20 years and had as many managers. All competent, and most were decent hard working folks. I’ve been in mgt for 6 years now and work on a team of about 13 other managers. All but one came from craft. These guys are smart, hard working, caring folks. I spliced with my AM years ago and he has now worked his way up and does an outstanding job. I know for a fact he actually cares about our team. I can’t help but believe this company is made up of people and teams just like this. I believe we are the rule not the exception.

If y’all woke maybe a dose of greens and chicken get you back workin. Helps most folks.
Yeah, clearly Stankey was appointed because of AT&T's "woke" policies. It is so nice to have more representation for old, bald, white guys. I'm glad the most qualified people are moving up.
How about they just select the most qualified candidates and leave all the woke, racial and gender out of business. That’s how most successful businesses are ran for long term sustainability.
The animosity is the fact.
there a thousands of better and superior leaders that are women and people of color that have been passed up and waiting in line for years to get promoted.
Don't forget hatred.
AT&T has earned the title of worst management employees anywhere except for perhaps, well maybe any African country and that's not an absolute.
bless your heart
the real animosity is towards stanks and their minions that go along with their cr-p and the direction of the company. they destroyed the company and view the customers as a burden.
I had the worse manager and director when i left. att deserves them because it is going no where with people like them running things - not animosity just a fact.
in a company now whose management is light years above anything att has and their stock price reflects their philosophy.
The Stink, who opitimes Toxic-T, deserves every bit of animosity! Ratty and Stinky destroyed T.
Like the old timers always told me don’t worry if you get a bad boss you can outlast them….in a few years they’ll move them someplace else…. which turned out to be true! AT&T loves to promote them!!
Then they can start over hassling/micro managing that work group!
OP works in a vacuum. Clearly no real context of how the rest of the company exists outside their group. Them be some excellent rose colored glasses.
I had 13 managers in 25 years and I would only say 1 was worthy of the position. None knew the job. Most felt they didn’t need to know the job and the last 5 only knew how to manage by fear and intimidation. Basically it was obvious that people that were unqualified to get management jobs at other corporations made at&t their last option.
T is a cesspool of hate filled people in positions of control. Based on management hiring practices over the last 2 decades, they deserve to go under.
No animosity when dealing with leadership that has skin in the game. It’s when leadership that doesn’t have something to lose from you getting wrote up or time off inserts themselves. They act like pricks and betters when their usually betas with low T and cellulite.
OP - looking at the views a post gets on this site shows a high number is 1k. That being said, my opinion is there are about 30 or so people that you are referring to. You are from craft. I have also worked in a blue collar / union job in a previous life. I know the MO of these folks. A bunch are reasonable humans. There is a subset that are in the jobs they are because there is no other path for them. As a result they will never be happy and feel anyone in a better position than them, made it at their expense or are against them
HR represents the company, not the employee. The only way they will do work is if they can look for a way to deny any issue an employee might have. They are truly a soul-less, unethical group.
I've been forced to deal with HR during a bad boss issue and without question, no matter what the issue is, T will ALWAYS take the side of the bad boss even though they knew in their hearts that what he did to me was outright wrong as well as unnecessary. I had another A-h0l3 boss that never placed me on disability when I was out for a period of time and I ended up having to pay back a lot of money. HR treated him like he was their golden boy even though he was irresponsible in his duties. Don't bother with complaints
cuz it only puts you on management's bad side and ultimately you lose.
good boss = happy work life. ego boss trying for a promotion and passing raise money out to lunch buddies is a miserable life. Issue is HR supports bad boss. Good boss has no need for HR.
To find who rules over you learn who you are not able to criticize
Life going nowhere. Others moving ahead. What's not to be angry about.
Lot less activity but when you look at the Verizon board the conversation is the same. Just different names..
Hi OP, how do all the customers and customer facing employees feel at AT&T??
The Ouroboros known as Wall St. is WHAT'S creating ALL the "Animosity..."
Thank "Your Rulers" (not Leaders) for the current environments... it DOESN'T MATTER where.... it's the same...
