Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

I couldn’t believe this when I found out

I’m training a guy who’s an officially recognised mentor in my org and he also has the responsibility to train other people.

Just let that sink in. I’m training a guy who’s a grad and he brings his mentee to my training meetings so they both can understand the work.

This just tells you how fu---d up this poorly skilled this company has become! I’ve not long been in the company but surely this is outrageous that a new guy is training an expert and his mentee!

@prs+1kGCKFQ8 - I hear you. There are still people like yourselves, who continue to carry a heavy load. But you are in a minority. The exec do nothing and rake in a fortune. Management do little and make good money. Grads are to inexperienced and undertrained (the topic of this thread) yet are often paid more than people with significant tenure and experience. Then there's the closer-to-retirement/too expensive to WFR cohort, who coast along knowing management are too inept to do anything about it. And lets not forget the quiet quitters. So you are in a minority of people who for whatever reason are happy to work hard, often for low pay and no hikes, who carry the load. My question is why. This company treats its people terribly and doesn't reward the hard workers. So why not join the rest of us. It's not rational to go the extra mile in the circumstances. Joining us will not help the company but the reality is, all employee efforts are worthless given the leadership and management of the company.

This phenomenon will backfire on the company, long term.
I've had plenty of situations where I, the subject matter expert, had to step in where ill-experienced graduates or young professionals had created really nasty escalations with clients that could have reached the regional leadership teams.
Please note, I am not directing the blame to the graduates or young professionals; I've seen them trying their best to their knowledge and experience. My point is that DXC's management is placing these graduates and young professionals on clients or projects with critical impact, and in unfamiliar sectors with no professional supervision, just to save a few bucks. Something that they are no way ready for. This type of approach can get people ki---d if things go wrong depending on the business sector, such as health care or infrastructure.
Clients are becoming aware of this. What their answer will be? I think most of you already know the answer.

You've been passed over.

I’m the OP and I agree @prs+1kGCKFQ8

How fu---d up does DXC have to be that they can’t recruit the appropriate skills at not the same level but actually have to recruit 3 levels down and then the trainer is responsible for training the one below him and the one who’s two levels below him.

This is NO WAY to run a business.

Sorry @gio+1kGCKFQ8 but which bit of DXC do you work in if you think "Majority of the employees are doing as little as possible for the most benefits or pay" must be HR, because they do nothing. The rest of us have far too much work to do because of the hopeless management creating such a terrible environment where attrition is a major problem and DXC can't recruit because of their terrible reputation.
Anyway let us know which bit so we can all request a transfer

It has to be the worst company in the Industry. Majority of the employees are doing as little as possible for the most benefits or pay. And good on them. They are treated as commodities by successive managers who themselves are playing the same game. Instrumental in why Adam Smith "Wealth of Nations" needs to be read in conjunction with "Theory of Moral Sentiments". Smith knew that self interest could only go so far before the invisible hand created an insidious environment. For the DXC marketing team and those lost Indian souls who post positive comments in this and other fora... insidious means slow and gradual (or subtle) with harmful effects. Stay long enough and it becomes more obvious that the ruling elite are amongst the lowest lifeforms on this planet.
