Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Boss talks about layoffs again

An AVP under Townes said that there will be at least two rounds of layoffs this year, maybe three. The dates are known for the first two but not sharing when.

Then said getting new business is challenging as so many in sales were laid off.

The race to the bottom continues.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Chad Townes part of Business services?

As mentioned in another post...if you have been here 10 years or more, it is so easy to tell when they are gearing up for another event. Every team call and one on one with my L2 and L3 has been cancelled or postponed since coming back from Holidays. Eerily quiet. I expect notifications will be going out very soon.

"Not in BizServ."

They will outsource your work and save money in the process just like have done in so many other business units in the last 5 years.

Not in BizServ.

BizServices is the business unit to be in, lots of work, additional personnel is needed and the only headcount reduction will be through retirements and not layoffs.

Hate to see cuts being made, but they should focus first on employees who are consistently unavailable for work. A coworker lives in Florida. She took caregiver days on Thur, Fri, and Mon. Tues she is out all day for a med appt for a torn ligament from a snow skiing incident (lives in Florida). Weds she takes a half day off to elevate her leg. No one questions it, yet some poor ba----d who works their a** off will make the surplus list.

The beatings will continue until morale improves. It is hard to motivate people when you have no vision or your vision is clearly headcount reduction to save the corpse of what was once a great company.

they need to get rid of sales sharing business model.
Why do you mean? Direct sales getting credit for SP sales or Direct sales bring deals to SP’s for $$$, it is totally laughable. They won’t look to deep because it is full of fr-ud.

We really don't need that many workers. Adjusting the business as needed.

It's absolutely ridiculous that they can't see WHY they can't get sales! It's like they have lab rats running the company! A chimpanzee could see what the problem is before they can!
