Mandating office time

So no one posted about them mandating call center employees in the office 5 days a month “for the culture”? I thought that’d be bigger news. Why have me in a cube when I can do it from home better and save $$$

Its so managers have an excuse to dress up and wield power. They short staff so there is no down time to culture. They stagger breaks and lunches so you have little chance to interact with others.

All that happens is you get in trouble for saying a PG13 word in office that a manager overhears, and told to get back to work when yapping.

They know the employees dont want it, and not having operation centers would save massive money.

It all makes sense if your goal is to keep dangerously low staff, and high turnover, so you can justify offshoring.

If I lived in a hub city and had to fight traffic for 1-2 hours each way I would not want to go into a hub office to do exactly what I was doing at home. When I worked in NY my commute each way was 1.5 hours. I relocated to a more suburban area and my commute dropped down to 25 min each way. Getting that time back was a big deal. Now I have been working from home since 3/14/20 and my car usage and gas consumption are nominal but on the other hand, I have not seen my team in person in almost 3 years, and have had limited opportunity to see my peers. I don't know about you but the only thing at SF that keeps me around is the people I work with. The company has gone off the rails and no amount of crocodile tears and hand-wringing by the CEO affects why I come to work and why I have not retired or moved on yet. Trust me, even the great people I work with can't overcome the work environment the company has allowed to happen. My time is short at the farm.

They’re also going to get rid of the lax dress code and go back to business attire.

You need to dress sharp and professionally to perform top notch and make a good impression on all your h1b replacements.

Honestly 5 days a month is not bad - but yeah - we literally go in the office and do the exact same thing we do at home - makes no sense to me -
They cut their food budget so we don’t even get food anymore, no snacks, no SF gear. Oh, and we can’t have 2 hr meetings anymore - only 30 mins per week .

Quitting reps told SF that the hybrid work schedules were a problem.....so SF doubles down and makes it worse. Hahahahaha.

Good news-inflation is projected to be 4.5% in March and 2% in June. You will be flush with $ and be able to afford driving to work every day of the month!

I don’t think State Farm (or the business world in general) is quite sure about this yet. COVID forced some changes and nobody has enough data yet to really know whether permanent work from home is going to be a good thing or a bad thing.
Agents offices have their staff…..but for at least a decade now, the agents feel completely disconnected from State Farm. And the general consensus is that’s not a good thing.

it has been this way for over a year for alot of claims segments, i think underwriting was forced in to this starting this month and i think they had a better deal prior but yeah it sucks, spend gas $ to work and add inflation to this and we now get paid less than we did in 2019-2020, staying home did offset some of the pay cut we got due to inflation and the terrible raises that dont keep up with inflation.

and they wonder why is it so understaffed all the time since 2020...
