Let me see if I have this right. We're expecting layoffs sometime in January and it is going to be intense enough that some groups will be completely wiped out - all to prepare for the coming economic downturn. Somebody also mentioned something about discontinued products, but no details were provided. Is this about it?

For those saying it's people who have been laid off that are making the negative comments, all I will say is that I was laid off 1 week before lockdown by a useless/toxic manager (They were demoted when Tell Dell came out) I can honestly state that it was the best thing that could have happened to me. About 1 years OTE pay, 18 months off and then a new role that pays about 50% more than Dell did, and achievable targets. I do wish all my colleagues who are still employed at Dell all the very best. Although most are hankering for a package.

After nearly four months of interviews for an executive position with the ISG company, the offer was canceled this week. Major layoffs are imminent, including for recently promoted employees. I never gave my current employer any notice.

There are fewer cuts in APEX, but the rest of the org will see cuts. HR VP's and legal will review lists now through end of the Qtr and then expect a phone call late Jan very early Feb. We (hr) see some managers in this first list, no director or above in ISG. we will know more when we get the second list of cuts in a few weeks; not expecting to see any sr management level in the cuts; target is anyone who earns top $ and any lower performers - no special status will be spared - legal is looking to make sure no special group is a target

You cant blame people for feeling anxiety over lay offs right now. The company has never been transparent about them . You find out later if you happen to have contact with the people rifted , otherwise you know nothing . In the past people have been completely blind sighted , no idea it was about to happen .
