So, how was it?

Waste of time and money. No more sales meetings! Give employees that in a living wage!
As a new rep it would of helped to have more product information. This was my sales meeting so I don’t have it much to compare with. It was fun to see my team but I didn’t learn much.
Would’ve been nice if the services team were invited to the NSM… once again proving how little they value us.
@7njk+1kAYBKEu You are missing the obvious. The executive team does not care about inspiring. They are tasked with retooling the business, which means reducing headcount while maintaining revenue. (There is not growth to be had.)
The narrative that management cares about employees is totally false. Here’s how you prove it. Ask yourself “if I had to get rid of person A to keep my job and provide for my family, would I ?” Of course you would.
Publishing’s glory days ended decades ago. It’s now up there with airlines or rental cars, except it’s so small that no one outside the biz cares or pays attention.
The NSM was ok. The executive team showed they don’t know much about the industry or how to inspire. It was great seeing everyone in person but it was apparent we are a shell of what we used to be and don’t have the people or products to turn things around in a changing and challenge market. It’s really crazy thinking about everyone we have lost and who is now in place making all the decisions. Still not clear about all the new roles. Apparently we paid and outside firm to tell us what to do and this new salesforce is what they sold us on doing. Maybe they will figure it out by summer.
NSM=National Sales Meeting. North America Higher Ed
Which division is NSM? I see a 20% RIF in our division coming soon. Plus others already had RIFs in late November/ early December.
I’ll see your 10% and raise it another 10%.
I expect at least a 10% RIF
