People moving roles (internal) or redundant jobs being moved to a new position counts as a 'new hire' ugh

Dell lays people off on a daily basis... Nothing new here. It's been that way since covid lol. They lay off people in very very small numbers year round so they never end up in the news for laying off "4 thousand employees" or whatever.

When I started, there were roughly 130k employees. As of early 2025 there were 108k. I'd imagine the number today is closer to 105k though. Maybe fewer; idfk.

So in the 6 years I've been at Dell, 22-25 thousand employees have been let go. So if they are wanting to be ~90k employee company they have about 12-15k more employees to go. At the rate they are going, they'll get there in the next 5 years or so, or sooner...

The last thing Dell wants is negative news about them - which is why they pay news companies to say Dell is a "top place to work" LOL! Point is that historically the "big" layoffs are almost always in February after Q4, and in mid August-September after Q3.

No sense in worrying about it in all honesty because it's out of your control.
