Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Layoffs will not stop don't apply to work here

The company was in a growth/acquisition phase for basically 10 years, now with the current landscape and the negative sentiment from stockholders, the government, employees, cratering stock price the layoffs will not end, only increase. Raises are next to nothing along with bonuses, stacked ranking laying people off even if they are good performers, over worked/over stressed, useless surveys, etc. 10 years ago the company was actually good to work for, the company is now a shell of its former self. Don't work her unless you want to constantly worry about being played off and overworked.

Agree. If you look at the job postings lately 99% of them are for India or Ireland. The writing is on the wall, in bold, underlined with 10 exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!

Who cares. Do your best and get let go with a severance and UI. These tw-t waffle managers are so minicule to the company that before you know it they will be under your supervision at another company. When it comes to optum the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side.

@ad if you take purchase parity into account that will be about 600k+++ in US. Badside living in India is traffic, air quality. Otherwise India lifestyle is better with that kind of money

So what i'm getting from this is that we should retire with our money in a country somewhere in Asia where we could stretch every single dollar of ours. Got it, I'll be seeing you all in Thailand 😎.

Fun Fact, my managers manager is offshore located in India. I did some research on glassdoor and found that the absolute highest salary cap on any management employee Optum listing is 4 million rupees. That is about $45K USD. When the bosses boss makes a third of what you do. Yeah, we're all secure here... LOL

All it is now is a race to the bottom for people offshore that have no idea how to do the job until they read all the knowledge that the previous people that were just laid off built up for them. Our help desk in second level IT groups are now fully in the Philippines we literally have handed our security to a third world country. We're apparently $100 American can feed a Filipino family for a month.
Just imagine that Just slipping someone $1000 bill and they can get access to all the medical information for an entire company if the employee is in the right position. Getting patient data, contract information, denials information... I'm not saying that couldn't happen here in the States but in the Philippines you could get a deep discount if you know the right help desk person and have 500 bucks in hand.
