New York dock is an old saying for someone looking for work as a last resort. Somewhat similar to the guys outside Home Depot.

Ahhh ….The old “I’m sticking around for the buyout “ …Good luck ! Y’all can ride a unicorn off into the sunset and find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
@11g What is the New York dock?
Managers get nothing. Union men get New York Dock.
UP would SAVE money by buying out my manager for $200K. He is a fu--ing id--t that makes the stupidest choices then he wants rules, HOS laws, etc broken to try and cover up his re--rded “leadership”
It would be silly to think nothing will happen. Past practice has been when either a railroad combines or buys 1 out layoffs, adjustments and closures are certain.
Managers will get $100,000 to go away.. Others will get 5 days pay..
Seems fair
Ha!! No buyout for managers. They will terminate you with cause and find a bogus reason. Grace & Jeremy are experts on this and if you think they care about their employees you’re kidding yourself.
You people are crazy, if you think they’re keeping everyone. Managers will get buyout and union employees will get laid off. Before the merger.
With mergers usually come with buyouts.
The biggest buyout UP should be interested in is Vena’s buyout. The faster he leaves the less
expensive it will be in the long run.
Buyouts are for one reason only, to eliminate one job and usually one person from employment without any discrimination lawsuit. The elimination isn’t discipline and it is permanent. Vena isn’t eliminating one job, he is eliminating thousands. And going after more under a program we all know as PSR. That’s why, there is no buyouts.
31 years here and never seen one.
Hahaha the Buy Out rumors again, your buy out will be when you retire chief.
